With these titles you will feel the real joy of driving race cars! Then if you are only for online races, i-racing, Rfactor2 are also the top (but somewhat quite expensive). Yes it is difficult to drive in AC, because every car behaves differently (like in reality with real data) and thus it is quite challenging to learn it, but this is the magic of it: trying to tame the LOTUS 98T beast ! On top of that you have to read (real car theory) and learn setting up the cars ! Ferrari, Brabham & KTM), and ACC for GT3s. But its totally crap.Īfter almost 10 years AC IS still the king (with so many tracks & cars and last week with 3 new cars from manufacturers i.e. People fall for this Codemasters title because its the only rally title and it fills a market gap. If you want to do a direct test of car behaviour, try the Ford Cosworth RS500 in DR2 and then in AC, and then think what you felt !Ī car racing title that doesn't simulates the car physics and transfers them properly to your hands through FFB, is not a sim, but an arcade ripoff to players mainly coming from arcades (Gran Turismo, Forza, NFS, Dirt, etc). They care just to get money and buy cars, like they are collectors instead of drivers. The mass of arcade players do not know what is a racing arcade & a sim. I hate their lack of innovation in their engine. That's how badly racing sims need to spend money on marketing. people are defending codemasters AND saying this is the only racing sim. when you buy a product, you evaluate it for what it has, not for what promises are made for what's coming. I'm not the only person who played Gran Turismo, want to play a better sim, ask around and hear gamers call codemaster games the 'best racing sim', shake their head in disbelief at the lies they've been sold to help sell these games via word of mouth, and stop searching for racing sims.Ĭodemaster doesn't even do proper projection Triple Monitor or VR, how can this be a racing sim?Įdit: I read that this game doesn't do physics well and a user defended it stating that it's coming. IRacing really needs to spend more in marketing and hire a proper marketing manager. You have to be a fan of racing, be fortunate enough to know someone that's a fan of racing & video games, or be angry and finally say 'Why is Gran Turismo the only racing sim ever made' in the proper sub-reddit to find out these real racing sims even exist. It took me over 10 years to hear about games like AC, ACC, AMS2, iRacing, rFactor2, Project Cars 2, and Race Room. I live in the States, there's no proper racing near me in the States other than NASCAR. Real racing simulator games seem to spend $0 on marketing to gamers and instead spend their entire marketing budget on racing fans. The marketing from codemasters has made so many gamers believe a lie, that their games are proper racing sims. The #2 user assigned tag in steam for Dirt Rally 2 is simulation, this game is not a simulation, not even close. Why why why why why when I say I want to play a racing sim, people tell me the best ones are Dirt or Grid.
